Human Rights Center: 1,319 Administrative Prisoners in Israeli Jails
Al-Quds, Administrative Prisoners in Israeli Jails- Data from the Israeli Center for Human Rights on Thursday (5/10/2023), explained that the number of Palestinians who are administrative prisoners in Israeli prisons reached 1,319 people, as reported by the website aa.com.tr. The data shows that a quarter of Palestinians detained by the occupation are languishing in Israeli prisons, without trial.
Israeli human rights NGO Hamoked said that the data presented was obtained from the Israeli Prison Administration.
“In October, the Israeli occupation detained 5,192 Palestinians, of whom 2,410 Palestinians have been sentenced by the Israeli occupation, 1,463 are still undergoing trial and 1,319 are administrative prisoners without trial,” Hamoked’s data shows.

“In September, 55 people were arrested under the administrative detention policy,” he added.
“This means that there is a quarter of Palestinians held by the Israeli occupation in its prisons,” he continued.
The Hamoked institute said the detention of prisoners from the occupied Palestinian territory is a clear violation of the Fourth Geneva convention, which prohibits the transfer of prisoners and detainees from outside the occupied territories.
“Last September, Israel set a record number of administrative detentions, when the number of administrative detainees reached 1,264 people,” Hamoked added.
